David Oliver
David Oliver started work as an advertising trainee before becoming a freelance photo/journalist working Duckham's Oil company's motor sport publications. Motor sport and aviation were his main interests, having learned to fly as a private pilot in the 1970s, he began to freelance for international aviation publications including Defence Helicopter.
In 1987 was appointed the founding editor of Air Forces Monthly working for Key Publishing for the next decade. In 2002 became the editor of Global Defence Review and ETS News and in 2005/6 edited Jane's Simulation and Training Systems.
He is also a motor sport and defence author who has written more than 200 articles and eighteen books on aviation topics.
